Highly functional rest great for sighting in!
I love this rest. It has become my primary rest. I cracked a stock on my.375 Ruger using a sled that has a solid but plate. I now use, and prefer, the Tack Driver with a Caldwell butstock support. The ears really hold the forstock nicely. It’s also a lot more versatile and transportable than a sled. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Quality made and priced just right
These bags are great! If you’re looking for a solid shooting rest without breaking the bank these Caldwell bags are the way to go. They are filled very well, the material is very sturdy, with a nice soft material on the bag where your barrel rests. They work very well for multiple firearms, and they are a great size to be able to pack and take around with you if necessary.

Just beware
The first picture IS NOT WAHT YOU GET! Look at the others. The rear bag is not sloped (which is what I wanted). It’s flat and very high generally speaking

Excellent Quality and Stability – Perfect for Shooting Practice!
The Caldwell DeadShot Filled Rear Shooting Bag is a fantastic addition to my shooting gear. The bag is pre-filled, which saves time and hassle, and its durable construction is immediately noticeable. The material feels sturdy and robust, and it holds up well to regular use. The water-resistant feature is a great bonus, especially if you’re shooting outdoors in various weather conditions. I use it for additional stability when shooting from a prone or sitting position, and it really helps improve accuracy. The bag provides a solid and consistent rest for my rifle, ensuring better control during longer shooting sessions. What I really appreciate about the Caldwell DeadShot bag is its versatility and convenience. It’s compact yet provides a lot of support for both long-range and precision shooting. The construction is top-notch, and it offers excellent value for the price. It holds its shape well, even after multiple uses, and it’s easy to adjust depending on your shooting position. Whether you’re a competitive shooter, hunter, or just practicing at the range, this rear bag enhances your shooting stability. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their shooting performance and add some extra support to their setup!

good bag
The Caldwell set of shooting rest bags is a pretty good set, and priced well. I have used the bags for rifle and handgun. The bags provide a good stable platform/rest from which to zero in your sights, or test some new ammunition loads, etc. The bags are filled with polishing media (I suspect it is corn cob media from the bit I've seen) - not sand. The bags are plenty heavy, but not horribly heavy (they would be if they were sand filled). The front bag is good sized, almost a cubic foot (give or take). The rear rest could be a tad larger, but works okay. Depending on your stock or other configuration, you might need to elevate it with something else. Stability is very good. The bag stays put and gives you a firm rest. The texture of the suede-like top provides a nice grip on the forestock of a rifle or the lower frame of a handgun. The two bags can be attached together via a plastic snap-hook and D-ring, which makes carrying them easier. This set is light enough and small enough to toss in the car when you visit the range, and it will do the job well. Can be easily refilled (or emptied) so you can adjust it to your preference. And if you remove some of the filling - use it in your tumbler! Nice product, very accurate shots on my AR15 at 50 yards. The rear bag is sorta small and works alright but really enjoy the big front bag. The product is filled with sand since everybody keeps asking. Pros: 1. It is so handy to carry around relatively lightweight gun supports rather than sandbags (literally) that weigh a ton (not literally). 2. These two "bags" fit nicely in my carryall case that also holds cleaning materials, bullets, shooting glasses, hearing protection, etc. 3. I use both units to shoot my rifle. I also use the larger unit to bench fire pistols. Con: 1. Obviously, they don't conform perfectly with every rifle stock/forearm dimension you run into ... so be prepared to plump them up or add a towel or other supplement to fit your particular firearm.

Versatile and comfortable bags. Buy them unfilled and save on the shipping weight.
I've used mine a couple times at the range now. I've used them with a Mosin Nagant, AR-10, and a 45-70 buffalo gun. You don't have to put your rifle in the V on one side. I've adjusted the height of the bag by rotating it around and using different sides or ends based on the gun and height I needed. I even put the bag underneath a metal stand for better elevation while shooting antique black powder rifles with my friends. The fabric is sturdy and comfortable and the seams are strong. I filled mine with corn cob media that I bought at a pet store as small animal bedding. I was really surprised by the amount of corn cob that actually fits into these bags. They are still light enough for my son to carry without any issues and without putting any strain on the stitching. No matter what configuration I used with the bags they were always stable. I even used the end bag to rest my elbow on so that I could get a little extra height so I could shoot downward with a tripod. Even using the bag under my elbow increased the stability. As one reviewer noted, the rear bag does have a mesh screen to see the filling through. Don't cut it or tear it. The screen is still fine eough not to allow sand to fall through it. I think corncob or tumbling media (pecan shells) would make the best filling. You don't want something that critters like to eat, and you don't want something like sand. Corncob is light, and it's cheap enough that you can dump it out for your trips home if you want. Pros: Strong Comfortable fabric against your skin Easy to fill Easy to empty Stable Durable Versatile Cons: They hold more filling than you might expect It takes a little maneuvering and massaging to fully fill
