Thick sturdy ultra comfortable pretty too
I got this mainly as a back up floor mattress to use in case of an extra sleeping space that could easily roll up.The what I would call faux “canvas” bag that holds it is high quality and extremely durable. It comes with two straps to wrap around it to make it a tighter roll. It also has a drawstring cord to cinch it tight at the top of the storage bag so that looks really nice. The mattress is so comfortable and thick better on carpeted floor if able but I tried on tile and that was even pretty good. There’s a zip up, machine washable beautiful cover in the identical pattern as the inside mattress pattern. It is easy to zip and unzip. Washes up great. I got a twin set of cotton sheets for this mattress as well.As you can see my very elderly (20 years old) kitty Sammy is sleeping on top of the mattress-it’s his favorite place. Which is a compliment because there’s a ton of cozy spots in our house for him to nap. He loves his mattress! So I put it on the end of the bed instead of storing it. It looks like a decorative bed item in the twin size. Plus in the winter here it feels nice almost like a weighted blanket on my feet/legs if it’s cold. This thing is high quality, thick, and soft material-not scratchy -comfortable. It is also really nice looking and looks more expensive than it is. I also have watched tv on it lying down with it on the floor. My two cats enjoy laying on it with me as well while on the floor. (Not just when it’s on top of the end of the bed.)Came very tightly shrink wrapped. This mattress is fairly heavy and durable for its size, but not so heavy that it’s cumbersome.Highly recommend and great for sleeping too. I fell asleep while watching a show and it felt so relaxing. Good peace of mind for having extra sleep space too. SO MUCH BETTER THAN AIR MATRESS! I hate air mattresses they’re so awful! Plus a pull out couch is the worse with those bars sticking in your back. This is convenience personified and so easy to store away in its bag if you prefer. There is no detectable bad smell/odor. Not even a hint of chemical smell. To me it is a neutral basic “clean” scent. I washed the cover immediately as I always wash brand new stuff of course.Highly recommended!

Comfortable, Minimalist, and Space-Saving!
I’m so glad I decided to try a Japanese floor futon! It’s surprisingly comfortable and supportive, even without a traditional bed frame. The quality of the materials is excellent—firm enough for good back support, yet soft enough for a restful night’s sleep. I love how easy it is to fold and store during the day, which really helps save space in my apartment. It also gives my room a clean, minimalist vibe. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a versatile and authentic sleeping option!

Exactly what I was looking for!
It looks and feels about what I was expecting and I'm overall satisfied with the quality. I do see why people complain about the dust cover; getting it on was a little annoying. Two adjacent sides are sealed together, so you have to awkwardly try to jam one corner in and pull the backside of the sheet underneath. (Note to manufacturer: designing the dust cover so the joined/folded edge is at the top of the mattress, then stitching the edges down a little on each side, like 1/5 of the length, would be easier as the edges could be scrunched and then pulling down the first two corners, then dragging the front and back of the dust cover to bring the zipper edges together would be a cinch!) Luckily it was cut roomy so not impossible, and it even allowed space for me to put a pillow top mattress topper on it (found one on Amazon for $30 that did same day delivery). This was a game changer, as it gave just enough plush so my hips didnt hurt as I sleep on my side. The material for the mattress was rougher, but the cover was a thinner smooth materiaI. I elected to still use a sheet set to cover it. I woke up much more easily than I usually would, which considering I have an expensive $500 mattress in the other room is ironic. Overall it's good value for money; after adding a few extra inexpensive modifications I can now see myself using this for the foreseeable future. From previous reviews some people advised it will fluff up even further!Haven't tested how storable it is; my intent is to fold it in half lengthwise when not being used as a bed and use it as a couch, but judging from the storage bag it looks like it's supposed to be folded into thirds; straps and the buckle on them are similar material to what you would see on a Jansport backpack. It looks like it would be a pain to pa k up every day...

Comfy and perfect
I just ordered this to help me with sleeping comfortably on the carpet in my son’s room. I bought the twin size so it could fit. I am approx 5’2 and currently 125lbs pregnant. I have to say this is such a great investment! Feels so nice on my back and sides. I often read or tell him stories and find myself falling asleep since his room is so quiet and cozy. Now I have this nice addition to actually be comfortable!

Don't buy
It's give this a half a star if possible... I ordered the first one I got and it rose about 3 inches but compressed so much you could feel the ground.. not exactly as advertised... Ordered a replacement with the intentions of returning the first... I followed instructions and key it rise to it's full height.. after twenty four hours it had risen to around 4 inches but the same issue I had before... The only way you don't feel the ground or floor is if you stack them together which I did... Then they work ok... This is just a cheap glorified so called memory form pad... More apt to the old rubber foam many used in the late 80's for camping... I'm going to keep them because I'm stubborn and it's my stupidity... But you'd be better off going to Big 5 and getting one of the green self inflating sleeping pads... Than you will with just one of these.. I rarely screw up when it comes to this stuff... This was a mistake
