Christmas present done right
This phone was a Christmas present for my wife. We've been married long enough, that we long ago decided not to play the whole "guess what I want for Christmas/my birthday/our anniversary" game. We write what we want on a list posted on our pantry door in the kitchen. There is no ambiguity. So I knew what I was shopping for, I just had to find the right deal for us.What sealed the deal on this particular phone, were a couple of things. First, despite being an international version without warranty, was the fact that we use TracFone. I could have gotten a Samsung Note 9 in dozens of places, but most required signing up for a plan. As fairly long-term TracFone customers, we're pretty well done with the likes of the big contract plans, and I was not about to sign a contract. Even if it meant a larger cash outlay up front, we would still save money in the long run by buying an unlocked and TracFone compatible phone. This phone's price was right in the middle of the pack.Second, and this is related, because we're laying out more money upfront, I wasn't going to get the version with the 512 GB memory. I knew I was going to be going for the less expensive 128 GB. But in order to keep my wife happy, it was still going to need the additional space. Well, the international version is perfect for that because it has that dual SIM card drawer, in which one of the SIM slots is actually a hybrid slot -- you can use the dual SIM drawer to hold two SIMs, or (more importantly for our purposes) one SIM and a Micro SD card up to 512 GB. That means you could conceivably have up to 640 GB of storage on this phone. There was a third factor which wasn't part of the original shopping process, but it was the icing on the cake when it came time to pick one -- that copper finish. It's such a striking color that when my wife went to pick out a case for the phone, she found one that actually let a good portion of it shine through. I thought sure she would pick one that would cover it up like she did with previous phones, but she was really taken, as I was, by the beauty of it (which is kind of odd to say about a phone of all things, but yeah, it's quite attractive). One thing to be aware of -- and I want to emphasize this is not a drawback or a downside, but just something you should be aware of if this phone is on your short list -- because this is the international version of this phone, the factory charger is NOT compatible with US electrical sockets. However, the seller very thoughtfully also includes a US travel adapter in the package so you can plug it in with ease in any standard US electrical outlet. You will have to slide down the black tab on the charger plug so that it will fit into the travel adapter properly. This takes about two seconds. My wife is very persnickety about her phones and other electronic devices, and if she is not happy about them, I will definitely hear about it. She's been using this phone for about a week, and she is all smiles. I take that as a good sign.

Awesome new phone, box seal broken to disable Asian regional lock; not because it was used.
Purchased this beauty from Hot Telecom. As soon as I received the phone, I was worried about the Samsung seal being sliced open on the box. Contacted the seller through Amazon, and they assured me that the phone was new, but that in order for it to work in the USA it first had to be activated with a SIM from a SE Asian mobile operator (box had to be opened for that purpose). So for those of you worried, don't be; there is even enclosed with the official Samsung operating instructions a "Regional Lock Guide". On this guide it even states that a 5 minute call must be made with the Asian SIM, otherwise the phone will not work in other regions of the world.Just be advised that because it was activated already, you will have to make sure to set up individually your personal WiFi, and accounts (email, etc) without the Samsung guide walking you through the process step by step. If you have done this in the past for other phones, it is really super simple. The only tiny draw back is that the black adaptive fast charging wall plug (not the cord) will not work with electrical outlets in the USA (not a big deal if you already have a white one from a previous Samsung phone, or if you plan to use the wireless charge feature). The fact that this phone: [1] is much less $ than the current unlocked phones from Samsung USA, [2] has the Exynos 9810 Octa-core processor (superior to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor sold in North America), and [3] has dual sim slots (or single sim + SD memory card) all means that this "international GSM factory unlocked" phone is an exceptional value.

Good stuff
For some reason it seems that the Singapore version phone has some glitches, but I still love the color and the overall performance. Great buy for the price without question

Excellent quality, excellent price, OE packaging!
Excellent buy! I received my Note9 2 days ahead of schedule. It was from Taiwan and tt was delivered by DHL carrier and required signature. OEM packaging with all accessories like usb dongle cable fast charger headphones..box came with tempered seal to ensure its original product. The phone is very nice and very high quality. I saw similar Note9 with US warranty go for $1,000. I also love the fact that it has 2 SIM slots for 2 different numbers. I do travel outside of US so its really useful. I'm loving the phone so far. Have it for about 3 days now..no complaint. My last phone was a Note4 so its a big step up for me. Love it. Battery life is excellent. Used it all day without the need to recharge. It also came with a clear flex plastic case. I have Tmobile and it worked right out of the box, popped in the sim card, powered on and it worked.

Samsung will not warranty it.
Samsung will not warranty the phone if it is an international version! Why? Beats me. Although its their product but they are using this loop hole to avoid liabilty, so it is ok to sell it in the american market but its not ok to warranty? Nor will they warranty it under international warranty? The note 9 has a major issue with SIM card hardware, it will stop working within a year, and samsung will fix it for you if you pay $365.00 usd? The phone new is worth $360.00. Minus the headache of talking to their customer service.
