excellent great for film developing
as good as the very expensive one I have for cooking, I use it for checking film-developing chemical temps and its excellent for this, especially as its waterproof

Very well built and easy to use. Seems fairly robust however that very much depends on how careful your colleagues are! Functions are simple but ultimately it gives a very good accurate reading quickly which is all you can ask for.

Hold option comes on when not required
When making marmalade I needed a constant readout when the temperature was approaching the critical limit but the temperature hold option kept turning on and this had to be cleared before another reading could be taken. I left a message on the Lavatools web site but did not get a response on how to disable this function.
