A box-set of all the episodes of Malgudi Days. Malgudi Days is an Indian television series based on the works of R.K. Narayan. The series was directed by the late Kannada actor and director, Shankar Nag and Carnatic musician L. Vaidyanathan composed the score. R.K Narayan's brother and acclaimed cartoonist R.K. Laxman was the sketch artist. The series was made in 1986 by film producer T.S. Narasimhan with Anant Nag as the lead actor. Thirty-nine episodes of Malgudi Days were telecast on Doordarshan. This television series was shot entirely near Agumbe in Shimoga District, Karnataka.

My time travel vehicle to a simple, beautiful, unpolluted era.
Malgudi Days was broadcasted when I was 12 - 14 year old. Now I am 45 and these DVDs have taken me back to those simple, innocent and wonder years of my life. Stories are not that great and my children do not enjoy these slow stories but I like it because it takes me back to the simple era - the one without mobile phones, internet or computers or fast cars..

Nostalgic!!!
Brings back nostalgic feeling watching these TV adaptions of R.K.Narayan’s novels & short stories. Shankar Nag’s recreation of Malgudi and direction is amazing. In today’s clutter of empty, long running television serials, a lighthouse which proves that television is a medium for fine arts in the hands of a great director telling the amazing stories of a phenomenal storyteller.

Highly Nostalgic
This set of DVD is for those who are either from a South Indian rural background or those who are 50 Plus. It brings back the memories of the wonderful child hood days. Excellent direction and nostalgic stories.

Nostalgia delivered as promised
Malgudi days ... something we saw growing up as kids and something our parents watched while watching us grow :). Seeing it again with family was pleasurable deja vu ... Thanks Amazon for giving it as promised, and on time.

Back to Flashback
We can't live our life again but we can feel and memorize the past. Watching these stories made me happy, specially "Vendor of Sweets" and "Swami and Friends". Everyone should buy this complete set of Malgudi Days. Never miss it!
