Lamination File 10" Profile Mill Cut

For a cabinet tip that I applied laminate countertop to, I tried several other files that I have for trimming out the edges - none worked well. Purchased this, and finished out my project nicely, just as the product detail described. A bit pricey, but high quality.

I was a bit skeptical that a “laminate” file was any different from other files. This particular file was quite sharp with deeper grooves and possibly farther spaced than what I’ve seen on “normal” files. This item worked very well on cleaning up edges on laminate. With two light passes it took off the burr created by the router and left a nice edge.

I used this to clean the edges of approximately 200 linear feet of birch veneer edge banding and it worked beautifully. Search youtube for "Pro Tips for Fast and Efficient Edgebanding" to see how to use this file to trim wood veneer.

I've seen a decline in the sharpness of files in the last few years, (yes from major US makers) but this meets my expectations. I use it to clean up 3D printed parts, works great.

While the price is less than a proper laminate file, I don't think this is really suited for that. This had teeth on the edges where a real laminate file probably wouldn't. The tooth pattern, while coarse, somehow didn't seem to properly finish the laminate material I glued on. Not sure what the problem was, it just seemed off somehow. To finish my work I went to a router and different file I had.

As a woodworker, I'm often edge banding plywood. I've tried all of the commercial edge band trimmers, but none of them work like this file. It cuts clean and fast and there is absolutely no tear out. Worth every penny of the investment!

I used this to trim edge banding on shelves. It was perfect and definitely a better choice than an edge banding trimmer given this can be used for other purposes as well.
