Not a real hunting game! First person shooter game instead.
This sucks! I am a total newbie to video games. My neurologist recommended I play video games to improve hand dexterity and neuropathy pain. Games like Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty are too difficult for me right now.I cannot shoot and jump/move at the same time. When the game becomes fast paced I just end up pressing all the buttons on accident or several of the wrong ones on accident all at the same time.So I wanted a nice, slow, easy hunting game. To get me better acclimated to the controller and buttons and back in the video game "groove". I bought this Cabelas hunting game before any of the others first, because it was the cheapest. But after playing it once I threw it in the trash! You cannot choose what animal you want to hunt, or what landscape you want. You just start out, and like Grand Theft Auto like games, you must complete hunts in order to continue?advance. If you do not complete hunts, then you cannot choose a different map/terrain. The map shows what animal to hunt next. It may be Zebra or Ox or Hyena. But it's not just ONE animal. It's like 20. You cannot advance unless you kill like 20 f*#@ing Hyenas! Then 20 f&*2ing Ox! That are ALL attacking you at the same time. So only after 2 minutes into the game, you have to learn all of the controls right away (crouch, aim, shoot, reload, roll out of the way) or you're surely going to die. This ended up being JUST like Call of Duty. A first person shooter game with 20 enemies gunning for you all at the same time. I expected it to be like an actual hunting game. Yes, 20 Hyenas can actually attack a hunter for real in real life, but that rarely if ever happens. Once a real gun has been shot in the wild/at an animal, animals run away, not towards you. So I'm giving this 1 star. This game is not for beginners, it's for advanced players that like challenges like this. And who are good at aiming and shooting while dodging at the same time. Also, while you are hunting one animal like Zebras. Even when crouched in bushes, supposedly safe from attacks according to the game. Out of nowhere ANOTHER animal will start to attack you like an Ox or Hyena. So this game wont even let you actually HUNT for 5 f%@*ing minutes without being randomly attacked. And yes, Africa IS filled with dangerous animals but really? This game wont let you hunt. It should have a better description and should advertise that it is for advanced players only, not beginners.

Not like the old Cabela's games
This game consists of you "hunting" if you can call it that, in 4 different locations, with a relative size map for each. The game is in 3rd person, and the graphics look almost like old arcade style graphics. The story is alright, slight twist at the end, but nothing you wouldn't see coming. the game is very very very repetitive... see what I did there.... anyways I played about 10 hours the first time through and about 2 the second time, getting all the trophy's, and plat. Not the best not the worst.

boring colors, not being able to steer the vehicle ...
I played the video game three times to understand why was there so many glitches within the programming itself, IE... Non-responsive actions, problems with the games' hunting sites (not being able to reach them), boring colors, not being able to steer the vehicle in the direction you want and not being able to enter your vehicle after you finish your mandated tasking.Although the game arrived on time and the packaging was adequate, I am very disappointed with its performance and mission tasking. Very Boring @ best!!Mike
