RVA1217 Solid Wood Cutting Board, 17"

Looks great, solid wood, fits across my non workstation sink.

I ordered this replacement cutting board after inadvertently damaging the one that originally came with my Ruvati 60/40 deep stainless steel sink (my fault). Upon receiving, I noticed the design of this cutting board was slightly different from the one that originally came as an accessory with my sink. The new cutting board had a dado cut along the short edges so sits slightly lower than the original so helps keep water off the countertop. The overhang around my sink caused the original cutting board to fit way to tight which I had corrected by sanding the ends of the board (this issue was also not the fault of Ruvati but my countertop installer). This newly designed cutting board fits perfectly even with the overhang left by the countertop install. Also looks great. Below are a few things I've learned that help keep my Ruvati cutting board functional and looking great: 1. Do NOT leave the cutting board laying in water. This is the mistake I made that ruined my original cutting board. Any wooden cutting board will swell, warp, discolor, etc., if left soaking in water for an extended period. 2. Condition your cutting board with food grade mineral oil or vegetable oil upon receipt and periodically thereafter (a few drops applied with a paper towel on each side will do). I prefer food grade mineral oil but Ruvati advises that either will work. 3. Wash your cutting board after each use with mild soap (dish soap), but be sure to rinse with clean water and let air dry in a horizonal position. 4. Do NOT put your cutting board in the dishwasher. 5. Any wooden cutting board will develop some knife marks after you use it a while. This is not a big issue and is normal. Keeping your board conditioned with oil will keep your wooden cutting looking and working great. P.S. I love my new Ruvati deep 60/40 sink. One of the best upgrades I've made to my kitchen thus far.

A piece of art, heavy enough, well finished, amazing color… it is sooo difficult to chop or cut anything on it because I don’t want to damage it with my kitchen knifes. 🙏 I strongly recommend to curate the board with olive oil before use.

I bought this to replace the warped cutting board on my sink. It fits exactly like the original. Be careful to wipe off water immediately to keep it in good shape.

I’ve had this for 3 weeks. It looks awful. Have tried to keep it dry but when you are cutting items on it, it will get wet! I do love how well it fits in my sink but overall disappointed.

The board is a lighter shade of brown from the original board that came with the sink. The brown comes off with a lighter shade of brown underneath when chopping with a knife.

I have two of these. Good for workflow as a platform when preparing meals and adds a finishing touch when straightening up.
