Prentice-Hall Biology

I've used this textbook to teach ninth grade Biology with two homeschoolers. I've really enjoyed using this curriculum. The websites and links mostly work, which is enough for me. I didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars on new textbooks, but the students still had access to nearly all of the multimedia materials available online. This is a challenging textbook, and the kids have really enjoyed it. Like all Biology curricula, memorization is important, but the colorful pages and informative text explain the concepts well.

Great deal. Cheaper than the textbook you buy from school.

I home school my child and even though I'm a christian I still give her a well rounded education from both the secular and christian perspective, as that is what she will receive when she gets into college. I also feel she should be educated from both sides or she will have no right to speak on the subject. I believe this is an excellent biology book, written from the evolution theory premiss, but one of the best written books for teaching and learning on the subject from that point of view. They make it easy and fun to read. They also have places in the book referencing websites that you can go to that show actual experiments on line, as well as further information on the subject that keep the lesson fresh, fun and interesting for the student while learning. I would highly recommend this book as a teaching tool.

I homeschool my two children who love science, especially biology. This textbook is very good and easy to read and understand. The book incldues many labs and science activities. We used this book when my kids were 12 and 9. I also recommended this book to other homeschool families. And those who are Christians like it much better than Apologia. PS. We are atheists.

It was a book needed to replace one for my daughters High School. I was hoping to get something that wasn't too bad however, I was pleasantly surprised to see the great condition of the book and the lady in charge of the bookstore was very happy to see it was in such good condition. And of course the price was excellent thank you very much.

This has been a great book for my homeschooler. I always appreciate the in depth information and detailed illustration. Even though the book was several years old, I was happy with the condition and content. The seller that I purchased from was very helpful.....even spoke with me on Christmas Day to answer my questions. He has been very responsive with all issues. I wish all of my on-line book sells merchants were this helpful!

Easy to understand diagrams, clear language with little fluff. Very interesting discussions about genetics, DNA, and cellular biology. I just purchased this book for my own learning, not as part of a class, and I was very happy with what I have learned so far. A great introduction to the world of biology.
