How would I set this up to just use two Rode Podmics and connect to my pc?

Both Mics would be plugged into channels 1 & 2 via the XLR inputs (Top two left hand side XLR inputs), then connect the mixer to the computer from the main outputs on the mixer (top right hand side jack outputs), into the audio input on your computer (Generally this is done via an audio soundcard, but some computers will have a direct audio input, usually this is a minijack so you may well need a lead with 2 mono quater inch jacks to 1 stereo minijack, to connect them).

Currently have the Xenyx 802 Mixer how does this one compare to achieve a better sound?

I can't compare them directly. I used to own the Behringer Eurorack UB502 mixer, with which I was very happy. Later I wanted another XLR mic channel, so got the Mackie Mix 8. I think the mic channels are slightly better on the Mackie - but you are asking about the Behringer Xenyx 802. This is supposed to have superior mic channel pre-amps to the UB502 - but I can't really say. You will always get more for your money with Behringer but my Mackie seems a sturdy and more professional unit. So, I doubt if what you're proposing will achieve a noticeably better sound - but may overall give you a better mixer.

Can i record and play sounds with this?

Not on its own. I use mine in conjunction with a digital interface, The mixer feeds into the interface which in turn feeds into my computer. I process recordings in my computer using digital audio software. I can play the sounds through my computer speakers, or using an output connection from the interface into 2 stage amps I have connected. The main benefit of the Mix 8 for recording is that I can have instruments and mic permanently connected and available for recording without having to switch cables around. It is a great product for the price.
