The Bhagavad Gita, Translated with a General Introduction, with Chapter Introductions. A New edition

I love spiritual books and already had a copy of the Gita, but it wasn't anywhere near as good a translation as this one. Not only is the translation beautifully written and understandable (so that we can actually apply what the Gita is saying to our daily lives and comprehend what it's saying), but Easwaran has also written a brilliant introduction! The history of the Gita and so many spiritual lessons - all jam-packed into a 45-page introduction. It's very refreshing and enlightening to read! I really feel like Easwaran is a genius, very knowledgeable in so many fields, not just that of Indian history and the Gita. And I feel like he truly understands the Gita and the lessons it teaches, so he is able to really *relate* the lessons to us, not just translate. I would SO recommend it - to those who have already read the Gita several times and to the very beginner who has no conception of Indian mysticism, history, or even the Buddhist or Hindu religions. I personally think it's a steal for anything less than $100.

Great explanation provided at the beggining of each chapter. Highly recommend this book.
