THIS BOOK has given me the most positive, comprehensive and usable feedback BY FAR.
This book is GREAT. I am a one year survivor of a TBI and while it's been difficult to classify my injury as mild, moderate, or severe after 10 days in the ICU, a month at a rehab hospital, months of inpatient and outpatient rehab, and cognitive behavioral therapy, THIS BOOK has given me the most positive, comprehensive and usable feedback BY FAR. Is it chock full of medical terminology? Yes. Can that be intimidating? Yes. However, the author uses "common person" language EQUALLY alongside the medical language. Therefore, it's approachable for a non-doctor person like me! Even if you can only sit down for 15 minutes OPEN IT. Use a highlighter, take notes, take breaks, and this book will be wonderful for you.

Empowering to know what has happened, how effects individual, strength and weakness, and where to improve
Because this workbook is empowering for a higher functioning individual with brain injury, I believe this is the first book someone with higher functioning brain injury should read. The information in this workbook is beneficial to the caretakers and family of the brain injured individual. In a structured program to help brain injured, the first step is getting the injured to understand what happened to him or her; how the injury effects him or her; analysis/evaluations/exercises to uncover/reveal strengths and weaknesses. The goal for recovery or improvement is to expand the injured strengths and improve the injured weaknesses. This workbook does an excellent job in explaining in plain English the brain, what happens in injury to the brain, how injury effects the individual, procedures and resources for recovery/improvement. The exercises at the end of each sections are adequate for evaluation of which functions were affected by the injury (for more complete exercises for evaluation/analysis: The Cognitive Rehabilitation Workbook: A Dynamic Assessment Approach for Adults with Brain Injury, Second Edition ISBN-13: 978-0834211933)Disclosure: The Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Workbook is a good read and it is tempting to read through in a few sittings. However, although the materials are presented in plain English (laymen terminology), there is a lot of information to digest. In order to understand and retain, It is better to read and do the accompanying exercise a little over time. Same principles as in college or professional life "cramming" rarely helps long-term memory.

A simple must-have for anyone with an MTBI
This book was a godsend during the first few weeks of my MTBI (in terms of diagnosing my particular struggles, as well as helping me better understand an injury the doctors weren't doing a good job of explaining. A few months out, it continues to inform my treatment, recovery, and communications with those involved in my care.I'm really trying to choose just one or two things that were particularly helpful, but everything - from the explanations to the practices to the self-assessments and goal setting - was always just what I needed, in ways I appreciate more and more as my case goes on.

Amazing
As a former Marine with a brain injury, this book is a godsend for me. It breaks the tasks down in a way I can understand. It's perfect for working along with a therapist or caregiver

If you had a crappy head injury like me get this book
This book if you go threw a head injury I can't recommend enough. I was lucky enough to be a patient of Dr. Sharfman who wrote the forward for this book and recommended it for me. I am still struggling with my MTBI and this book help me understand what is going on and helped me to talk between my doctors and let them know what to look at

Useful but needs help with guided approach
Needs more structural work to assist those with varying degrees of disability. More on "how to use this book" would be useful. For brain injury patients, these is no such thing as giving too much direction, ezpecially for those with minimal tolerance for books and written material. I did not find it possible to attack page 4, for example, and move streadily forward from there. Some sections were beond my limit of understanding and patience. It was sometimes difficult to see why the workbook tackled certain topics. The workbook approach opens the door to a new type of thinking aboutthe issues that is not available in other publcations today and that is the true value of this book.
