Broken down in first use :(
HiI have been using Bajaj kitchen products the last 12+ years. My mixer from Bajaj, 12 years old, is still working fine. My first OTG was Bajaj.Keeping this in mind, I decided to buy your bread maker. Got it from Amazon end of May. Product was delivered on 30th of May.I’m a doctor/frontline worker and was able to use it only the last weekend. On 13th May.As soon as I started it, after the first few rotations, it stopped working.Called the Bajaj customer service number in the manual. The service person visited yesterday, 14th May. He said the belt in the bottom has crumpled away and needs to be fixed. But that the device did not have a serial number. He wanted me to show the purchase bill and warranty details. Showed him the same, as provided by Amazon. He rejected them, saying they were not the Bajaj ones. He said I had to contact Amazon.Called Amazon, and they said that the Bajaj service persons need to fix this. And if they can’t or won’t, they should provide a Denial Letter, and then Amazon would look into it.Called the Bajaj customer service number, and was given the Chennai manager number, as well as another senior persons number. The manager, Mr Vetrivel, says he was the one who checked the device, and he can’t help and won’t provide service denial letter. The regional head, Ms Gayathri, is not accessible in the number provided. Now Bajaj as well as Amazon are tossing the ball into the other persons court. And I’m left in between, at a loss, of money and confidence on both parties.Been an Amazon customer since it’s entry in India, and never had any issues. But this is upsetting me.Hoping for a resolution to this asap.

Good, with issues
First piece ordered stopped working after 1 use (motor would make noise but not turn). Ordered a replacement piece and it was delivered next day with no hassle.Works well, but is much larger in size than expected. The preset menus are good, have made a variety of breads. Did notlike the cake recipe, or the factthat you can't use your own recipe. Will continue to experiment.Definitely recommend this product, but could be better.

Some of the best home made bread I have had in a while
We are loving this little wonder. You must be careful of the ingredients and their respective measurements. If you use the right ingredients with the right measurements and let the machine run the specified program for its full duration you should get some excellent quality home made bread, dough and cakes. So far, we have used it to bake some regular white bread, wheat bread and some cinnamon bread. The texture and consistency is nothing short of amazing. Though the bread does come out a tad dense (compared to off the shelf store bread) but tastes just as good. There is very (I mean very) little manual interference required. Just put in the required ingredients (in the right amount) and presto, you'll have some freshly baked bread in around 3 hours. Consider using some good quality yeast (like the one from Urban Platter). It makes a LOT of difference.I think it works best for bread and dough. Dough comes out nice, soft and of uniform texture. Excellent for making those soft and light phulkas.Cakes are a little more challenging and will need some experimentation to get them right. I would recommend not following the recipe specified in the manual (for cakes ONLY). The recipes for bread work just fine.Overall - if you want to make some home made bread - I'd say they are totally worth it. As for the price this is the cheapest product I know. I think its worth the asking price but some people might disagree.

Does not work
The purpose of a bread maker, the way I see it, is to make the process of making a loaf of bread completely hassle free. If there is any bit of undue effort involved then one might as well make the dough and bake the bread manually instead of spending 9k on this appliance.I ordered this device the day I saw it released on Amazon based on my prior experience with Bajaj devices, sure that I was getting something good.IMO the true test for a bread making device is to try Wholewheat or Atta bread in it. The is one tough bread to get right. Unfortunately Platini failed in this very first crucial test. Despite the fact that I ensured all ingredients were within their use by date, followed the recipe for Atta bread suggested in the manual booklet to the letter, and the bread-maker ran its full 3 hours 32 minutes cycle without any interruptions, the result was a slightly roasted 700 grams lump of dough, with no air spaces or crumb structure whatsoever. The most obvious solution could have been increasing the yeast to the amount I use when I make an atta bread manually. The second attempt though was no better than the first and I realized that the pre-programmed and un-modifiable routine which the breadmaker was using to make the atta bread didn't give anywhere near enough time for the dough to rise and kneaded it too often. So what is the solution? You stop the breadmaker halfway and then restart it after you think the dough has risen enough? Where does this requirement for manual intervention stop? And either way the fact that such intervention is required spoils the whole purpose of the breadmaker. If I just needed a device to knead the dough I would use the food processor jar. What use of this 9000 rupees device then?IMO this breadmaker needs to undergo more rigorous testing and improvements to its pre-programmed options to actually make it worth it. Right now it is just a glorified dough kneader and mediocre oven.
