It's a wake up call when you're optometrist tells you you have the start of macular degeneration, and suggest you find a lutein product to take. After looking at over a dozen brands on here, this is the only one with natural coloring, not using red 40. Red 40 causes severe GI distress in me, and I didn't want that problem taking lutein. Theoretically it's working in me, time will tell if it helps slow down the macular degeneration.
