Decorative wall shelf
Bought this with a gift card from a friend. At first was disappointed I thought it was a show that was meant to stand on the floor and it’s actually a wall shelf.., it’s beautifully made and looks awesome on the wall hold everything that I needed to put on the shelf as many compliments would recommend if you’re looking for a shell. This is great idea.

Great customer service
I was very skeptical about this purchase. HOWEVER, we made a couple mistakes in assembly because we didn’t read the good instructions. Their customer service was excellent and sent us replacement parts with no questions asked. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I love the unit.

Buildup recommendations
Unit was exactly as I had expected. All pieces were there and all were intact. The finished unit is sitting on a large, heavy credenza, so I didn't have to worry about the board supplied to hold it on the wall. Good thing, as I accidentally stepped on that board and it was so weak that it broke in 3 pieces. Other observations:1) Test fit as much as you can. When combined/set in place, the three panels which make up the back of the unit were too wide for the space allowed; I had to trim off 3/8's of an inch to make it fit (and if you have to trim it, make sure to put the trimmed side into the vertical slot in the side panel. The same pieces were also too long, and I needed to sand about from 1/8 - 1/4 off the top edges of them to make the top fit tight and not make the panels bow out.2) Instead of adding the vertical strips on the front after the top and back panels are on, attach them as soon as the vertical pieces are attached to the base. This will create a "T" profile contact at the base which will add stability to the vertical pieces while trial fitting the back panels and the top piece.3) The push pins supplied to attach the back panels are insufficient. I drilled some holes where the panels meet, then drove in a regular screw with a large washer.4) I recommend using a power screwdriver for only until the screw head is about 1/8" from bottom. then finish screwing it in by hand as the wood composite is so weak that it's too easy to strip the predrilled hole so it never gets tight.5) The finish scratches so easily; I'm putting on a coat of reddish stain (to make it a close match to the mahogany credenza it's sitting on, then a clear coat over that to keep it from chipping. All in all, it's a decent piece, it makes a strong and heavy piece, and it is well worth the price and effort.

Very nice looking and great storage capacity
For someone who isn't all that handy, I found this unit fairly easy to assemble if you take your time. I spent about 1.5 hours, but only because I had to redo a step (details below). Once assembled it looks very nice and holds a surprisingly large number of CDs. I thought at first I might have to buy two of these, but one more than handled my collection. The unit arrived in pieces and most were covered in a layer of dust as others have mentioned. It was easy to wipe off, but I wonder why this wasn't done at the factory. I found the instructions somewhat confusing in a few places. The thing that tripped me up, mentioned by other reviewers, is you have to make sure the two inner vertical support pieces are assembled with the holes facing the front of the unit. This is so you can put the decorative front pieces on them later. The instructions do not make this clear and the boards aren't marked in any special way. I had to unscrew them and reverse them once I realized my mistake. The tools I used were a hammer, a level, a stud finder, and an electric drill / screwdriver. The electric screwdriver was very valuable and I'd consider it a must-have for putting this together. The unit attaches to the wall very nicely by hanging on a lipped board you affix to your wall. It is very sturdy assuming you drill into a wall stud. The only fault I can make is the decorative front pieces and sides cover up some of the storage space. If you pack your CDs in too tightly the CDs can go behind these pieces, making them difficult to pull out. You can use some of the extra metal studs that the shelves sit on to stop the CDs from getting lost back there, but there aren't enough extra ones for every shelf. As noted by others, the bottoms of the shelves are not finished and are thus lighter in color than the finished parts. However this wasn't a problem for me. I can't see these areas when hung up on the wall, even with the shelves empty.I'm very pleased with the unit for the price I paid for it.

Precisely Aligned
While I was not at all impressed with the “directions,” the parts were carefully crafted and packed and assembly was intuitive. Everything lined up and fit perfectly. The mounting system allows for perfect leveling before hanging and creates a strong and flush attachment to the wall. The result is a furniture-grade unit that fits in almost any decor. If and when we decide to sell our house, my guess is that the buyers will want to make it part of the deal. It’s that good. I like that it provides space to segregate CDs based on genres. Yes, I know I’m old school in my appreciation for tangible musical assets, but if you’re like me and still collecting discs, this will house your stash in style.

Not for books
I thought it was for books it is not. My husband and son had a very hard time putting it together. This was a mistake.
