Lovely gift box, mixed bag of products
This is a really nicely presented set of beard products that would make a good gift. However the items are a rather weird combination, with varying performance as well.Good things - The beard 'wax' is something closer to a typical beard balm - a firm set balm that requires liquidising in the hands, and in this case providing a good hold once dried into the beard. It's slightly on the thick side, so lasts all day but requires brushing out/washing at night. It's not a bad beard balm at all. The shampoo is fine, decent cleaning without drying the beard out. Both the wax and shampoo are in good size containers and should last a decent length of time. The scent is nice, ginger and lime, without being overpowering or unbalanced towards the citrus like a lot of beard products. Not so good things - The beard balm itself is more of a cream, underlined by the fact it's in a tube, and doesn't offer much in the way of control. It's quite greasy and gives an unavoidable wet look, that isn't particularly desirable. It's not really necessary if you're using the beard wax, and I'm not entirely sure what it's included for. Similarly the soap - besides being a very stingey size, you could fit four of them in the little box it comes in - it's simply not required if you're using the shampoo.I think this is another example of a relatively big cosmetics brand jumping on the beard bandwagon (also see L'Oreal), and their lack of specialism shows a bit. The ingredients are a lengthy list of chemicals, completely missing the point that the best beard products are simple, minimal and generally chemical-free. The bizarre combination of conflicting products in the tin doesn't make sense - if you were to use all four together your beard would be quite a sight. That said, the wax (balm really) and shampoo are fine and probably worth the price of this alone.3.5 stars.

Fabulous gift option, great scents, good products & looks luxurious
I do like the Baylis & Harding range and Fuzzy Duck is a luxury diffusion line based on products produced for their boutique B&B (they rescued their local pub from closure and diversified into B&B using their products as a USP), this gift set is evidence that Baylis & Hardings current owners are continuing to keep up with trends as the Fuzzy Duck and diversify into beard products. In addition it's a nice touch that the packaging is a blend of their British heritage with the brown paper labels evocative of regency era antique books in design, colour and lettering paired for contrast with the modern hipster trend of chalkboard hand-lettering.This looks good before you even start so it has high value as a gift. The products inside are lovely, be aware for sensitive skin the shampoo is SLS based but other than that it's a nice little set with a gorgeous Ginger and Lime fragrance that is reflective of luxury brands that wish to evoke a sort of historical gentlemans barbershop experience by reflecting traditional luxury products on sale from such establishments. It has everything except beard oil to take care of your beard, which would've been nice but still this kit is lovely. The shampoo and soap are excellent choices to thoroughly clean the beard especially if considerable size and the grooming products allow for both control and styling. My husband thought this a great little set.
