Kapok is a fiber and Buckwheat hulls are like grain. Kapok is firm because it is densely packed into the cushion. Buckwheat is firm because it is hard shells in the cushion. One way to think about Buckwheat Hulls is to think about going to the beach, making a pile out of soft, dry sand, and then sitting on it. It feels hard, but it easily conforms to the shape of your bottom. Buckwheat Hulls more easily conform to your shape and are comfortable because they are pressing into you anywhere.
