Thayers Facial Toner, Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera, Rose Petal, 12 Fl Oz

I started using Thayer unscented and loved it. I had rose water so I added it to it. Well duh, I can just buy it with rose in it. I don't find the fragrance to be too strong at all but then I don't have a real sensitive nose like some people do. The fragrance is from rose water and fades shortly after it dries anyway. Natural Witch Hazel, Aloe and Rose water all bring wonderful properties to your skin.What I noticed:Pour size: I defiantly have seen my pours get much smaller! Especially on my nose. Big wow for this one.Eczema: I tend to get eczema on my face which really sucks. This takes it right away!! Thank you ,thank you. For those of you that suffer with eczema my number one recommendation is to stop eating grain!! That makes a HUGE difference. That is the only way I can get rid of it. When I cheat my body can handle it once in a while but no on a regular base. When I start eating grain it comes back. And then Thank goodness for Witch Hazel it takes it away quickly. I have used steroid creams which work, but this is actually faster and all natural!Wrinkles: Yes, it does help. I feel my skin is tighter and I a youthful glow back to my skin. It really is amazing. I'm 58 and look 40. What I eat makes a difference there too but Witch Hazel is fantastic. (food, stay away from sugar!! Ages you fast.) I never bothered with an astringent. What for. I have no idea what started me on it but I will never stop.Cleans: I know it moisturizes. I am not sure how but it does. I still feel squeaky clean, I put the witch hazel on t though out the day. I leave it on the bathroom counter next to cotton balls and whenever I am there I put some more on. Love it.Acne: I don't and never have had a problem with acne but Every once in a while one will sneak up, usually back to when I am not eating right. It does clear it up quickly when I use the witch hazel. I would say in two days. For those who say it brings on acne my only guess to that is it might be clearing out your skin big time and...what are you eating?? Can't blame it all on the witch hazel.Good stuff. I noticed there is lavender and many other choices. A real keeper as far as I am concerned!!

Normally I would be hesitant to give a product, especially a beauty/cosmetic product, five stars, but I absolutely love this product, and I think it would be useful to many people and non-irritating/not a waste of money to people who end up not loving it.I initially receieved a small sample bottle from a tradeshow and then purchased the larger bottle online after using it all. I have been using it daily for approximately three months and have found it great for the following uses:-As a facial toner/acne treatment: I apply it every night after washing my face. It helps remove leftover makeup and makes my skin feel clean without the "tingly" sensation (code: burning) or tightness I've experience with other toners. It makes my skin feel soothed rather than attacked. Whenever I've had a breakout, it has helped reduce the size and redness of blemishes overnight, and made them feel less hot and irritated instantly. I previously had light acne around my hairline due to my bangs, and it has cleared up completely. I occasionally get cystic pimples, almost always due to PMS, and it clears those up faster than anything without dryness. When I've had those type of blemishes, I've applied this to a washcloth with hot water and used it as a compress, and the acne has looked and felt better immediately.-As an aftershave: I use this when shaving my bikini area. It is very soothing and cooling, and I'm not worried about using any of the ingredients around sensitive parts of my body. Even better, I haven't had a single ingrown hair since I started using it. I apply immediately after shaving and whenever I feel chaffed. I also exfoliate to prevent ingrown hairs, but this is the first product that has prevented them completely. This is the number one reason I ordered the large bottle.-To freshen up in general: When I have been particularly sweaty for whatever reason, I've put this on a tissue or and used it to freshen my face, underarms, cleavage, neckline, etc. It evaporates quickly, is cooling and smells fresh without being overpowering. It's nice during a long commute or after the gym.I can see how some people would not like the scent even though I like it. It is not a strong, long lasting or perfumey scent, but it is definitely very rosy. Some people might associate the smell with "grandma" since rose petal is a classic scent that was very popular for cosmetics and fragrances in earlier decades. If you find that off putting, I would recommend trying another one of the available scents because I do think it is a great product.

Firstly, this toner smells wonderful. It is so relaxing just to smooth it over your face while smelling the lovely rose fragrance.Aside from the fragrance this toner is gentle and effective. My skin can be... moody. It is sensitive in places and not so much in others. Sometimes it seems more sensitive than others. I never really know when it might have a mini fit, say, right by my nose. But this product allows me to additionally cleanse, refresh and soothe my skin without irritating any bit of inflamed skin I may have.PROS:-Natural rose fragrance: This smells like heaven! Love, love, love! I swipe it on my face, neck, ears and decolletage.-Gentle formula: No alcohol + the addition of aloe makes this gentle, even for some folks' very sensitive skin. For me, I am even able to use it rather close to my eyes, and it does not burn, but instead feels quite nice. (please be cautious of your own limits and needs!) For comparison, there are a lot of eye creams I cannot near my eyes without burning, stinging and/or swelling.-Effective: Allows a further cleansing of the skin, leaving it refreshed and comfortable, as opposed to stripped and tight. I often see a bit of extra dirt or oil my cleansing missed, come off on the cotton pad. After using Thayers my skin really feels ready for the moisture step, even though it already feels nice by this point. :-)CONS:-Not available everywhere, but thank goodness you can get it on amazon for a reasonable price! :-)About my skin (for your reference): I have very oily T-zone, sometimes sensitive, acne-prone, easily congested skin. I don't get many wrinkles, but must always battle the downsides of youthful skin while trying not to be too harsh on my "not a spring chicken" skin.
