Pentair 261055 Multiport Valve for Triton And Quad D.E. Filters, 2 Inch, 7 1/2 Inch Centerline

After putting up with a troublesome push-pull valve for five years, it finally broke when I was trying to take it apart for repair and maintenance. I bought this and some plastic pipe and fittings. I love it. Maintaining the pool is so much more efficient and easier that it used to be. Definitely worth replumbing the pump and filter.

Great value compared to local pool stores. This valve makes cleaning a breeze compared to the old push/pull valve. Build quality is great, it’s a genuine pentair part.

The selector valve on the sand filter for my pool had been out for a while. I had made some modifications to the old valve to keep the filter working. My fear was that a replacement wouldn't fit and would be expensive. I finally decided to order a replacement through Amazon. It took me app 30 minutes to install the new one, it fit like a charm and was reasonability priced. I wish now that I had replaced it sooner.

This is exactly what I needed, however the inlet/outlet was opposite from my old valve. I don't know if they make the exact one i have since it s20+ years old, so I redid the plumbing and it worked beautifully. I turned it on and water gushed out the side! So just a note, because it comes with very little instructions and does not indicate flow. Make sure to find the little plug in the bottom of the box and put it into the front of the valve before turning it on. (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, It doesn't need it and it will break off) Also keep your old valve until installation so you know which direction your flow is since you may have to re-do the plumbing. Other than my mishaps, great product and very reasonable for the price. When doing plumbing, always expect to go to the store at least twice. This is standard practice!

These valves last about 6 years in the FL sun and it is not worth the effort to get the rebuild kit as the housing plastic get crazed in the sun. They are not easy to install even with the threaded inlet and outlet ports as you have to be real careful when you tighten in the threaded PVC fitting. If you overtighten, you can crack the valve housing and then you are out $400 more. I made this process a lot easier by putting threaded unions on a short piece of PVC straight out from the inlet and outlet so if the threaded fitting into the valve needs to tightened, it is simple to do. Loosen the union and then do a 1/4 to 1/2 turn on the threaded fitting, tightened the union back up and start the pump again and check for leaks.

Was an easy installation. Works great.
