Using this on an intake for a MKV GTI. Works great and was the refresh my car needed.

Bring new life to your weak engine
I have used K&N on several motorized vehicles. the least increase in horse power increase was 8. The Element was up to 17 extra ponies after we took the time breaking in the computers, I forgot To add that with the typhoon colds air intake system we also realized an increase of 62 pounds of torque. . Increase fuel economy 4 extra mpg. The only reason I did not clean ad re - oil the filter is because when had a dealer put in the battery they tore the screen on the filter and I had been driving on severe dusty roads. Their Warranty is for 1,000,000 million miles, they've been used over 120,000 miles and the Honda motor will go the distance, K&N is the only way to go. Now that I have taken the time to allow the computers to adjust to common sense slower acceleration and using the cruise control. I have increased my fuel economy a total of 8 mpg, net horse power at the wheels is now 204 there have been other modification to this Element but the increases are taking that into the actual numbers. All increases were taken after putting in the new filter on the already installed components. On a stock Honda Elements with no alterations to the factory equipment, the actual increase is 4 to 7 mpg and 5 to 12 increase in horse power to the factory 160 HP Accord motor used in the Element.

Awesome filter! Noticeable difference in gas consumption and acceleration. In my 2006 VW GTI.
WOW!!! What a noticeable different in my acceleration and gas consumption. Especially during these times of record high gas prices. I drive 24 miles, primarily highway driving each way to work and have notice a huge different in the performance of my 2006 VW GTI, 2.0. I have used the K&N filters in other vehicles, but this is the first time in this car that has over 200,000 miles. I could immediately tell the difference. Depending on your driving habits. Such as your acceleration and speed. If you want to save money and achieve performance, I would highly recommend the K&N filter. It’s well worth the price.

overall happy. Just left with a couple questions
My car feels like it can breathe. Gives it a little extra boost because of the better intake. I can really hear my turbo now though. For me it was worth the money. My only thing is I can't find any info about which wrap fits this particular filter and if theres a substitution filter for when I have to clean this one

Works great after 72,000 miles!
I currently use this filter on a Honda Element. In the element, the filter position (used on a K&N intake) causes one side of the filter to gunk up first, so it must be rotated occasionally. I wash the filter every 5-8k miles with K&N Filter cleaner and re-oil with K&N filter oil. It never comes quite as clean as you would like and it is starting to show some wear to the material and mesh cover. I think I'll toss it at 100k miles and get a new one, but that seems like a fair service life for a $40 filter. It might last longer in light or city use and or less time in a dirty/country road environment.
