Situationally great...... Be cautious
Woodlore makes a very good boot tree, but it is definitely not universally usable. Be Forewarned. I have purchased a few of these particular boot trees, they are my first option. They are well crafted and assembled. But the toe of this boot tree is also very large with a high instep. Before buying this boot tree, compare pictures of it closely to the boots you want to put them in. Does your boot have a long low toe box? Does your boot have a low instep? If either are true, Do Not Get These Boot Trees. If you do decide to try them, Do Not Try To Force Them In. You will stretch the leather and you will cause wrinkling. I know from experience. Will fit: Thursday Cavalier Chelsea, Thursday Scout Chukka, Allen Edmonds Surrey Chelsea. Will Not fit: Thursday Captain Service Boot.

This is a great shoe tree
This is a great shoe tree, but I followed the chart on the site for a standard width/size 11 Redwing Iron ranger boot which suggested XL, and the XL just barely fit, but I felt it was putting too much pressure on the heel of the shoe. I ordered a large and while the toe does not totally fill out the front of the shoe width/height-wise (it's not a huge difference in shape though), it has just the right amount of length pressure and so it still pulls the shoe into shape just fine. If you have iron rangers at 11 or below I suggest a large, 12 and above I suggest an XL. 11.5 is going to be an awkward size, XL will fit them the best but it might stretch the length a tiny bit over time since the spring will be fairly compressed in them. I don't think they an XL would ruin an 11.5 though I felt like it could ruin an 11 unless the 11 was real tight on your foot to begin with.

BOOT TREES
These are nice boot trees. I wear size 8B in Russell Moccasin High Country Sheep Hunters boots which are triple-vamped boots (3 layers of leather in the foot). I got these boot trees to keep the toe open as most moccasin style boots tend to get shorter and wider with age. I was a little confused by the comments about sizing. The boot tree in medium does fit my size 8, but hunting boots run a little large per size so it's actually more like an 8.5 or 9. The tree make states medium fits 7.5 - 8.5. The tree fits extremely tightly with no free play in my size 8. Squeezing them in a 7.5 might be tough but you could probably do it with some elbow grease. The boot tree would work if you need to stretch your heel and toe out a slightly using boot leather stretch spray. I am going to do that with Kiwi boot stretch spray. Construction of the trees is solid. You are getting what you pay for.

Well Made and Worth The Money
The size large fit my 11-D Justin and Dan Post exotic leather western boots well. They are not wide enough to stretch the leather, so if you want that in a boot tree, buy the adjustable ones. These are meant only to keep the boots from folding up or caving in on you in the closet, and because they are designed for boots, they do just that. They go into the boot easily enough and the notch in the heel portion provides a slot for your fingertips to allow easy removal. I actually prefer that to a leather tab or fabric loop since those can break or wear out over time. The cedar wood helps control odor in the boot and may aid in moth prevention in the closet, so I leave them on a shelf in the closet when not in a pair of boots. I own two pair of these trees and will be buying at least one more pair.

Medium fits 8.5D perfectly!!
I bought the mediums, 9 pairs actually, for my Lucchese Boot collection, my boots are 8.5D and these fit perfectly. These are a must have for high end western style boots. Keeps the sole flat and the instep high. These also fit the width good too, just enough to maintain the boots shape and size while stored. I have tried numerous kinds and these are the best value I have found thus far. Problem I always had was the heel would always pop loose or rise up rendering the spring tension useless. The Woodlore boot tree always stays locked in the heel of the boot and does it job. I suspect these will last a lifetime in each pair of my boots, and at a reasonable cost with free shipping. These are a must have if you own western style boots of any kind

Great fit for my boots
I have a pair I'm using to keep my engineer boots in top shape and I couldn't be happier. Not that you'll be looking at shoe trees very much but these looked great out of the box, super craftsmanship and sturdily built. The spring action is a little stiff at first but by now they're easy to pull in and outUPDATE:I guess I dodged this issue the first time around, but beware the sizing here. I ordered another pair of Medium trees to fit some size 8 Doc Martens. They claim to fit 7.5-8.5 and absolutely did not. Fortunately since they're fulfilled by Amazon the process of switching them is pretty painless.EDIT: To clarify my update above, the mediums were too big.

Great fit, effective product with good aesthetics.
I purchased a large for size 43 (US 10). It fits well. The joints are articulated smoothly and provide the right amount of pressure once it's in the boot. The width conforms to the boot well and doesn't stretch the leather more than is needed to keep the shape.Seems like a good product thus far - will update after a few months so I can compare it to the boots I've been maintaining with lasted boot trees. This is definitely a more accessibly priced product, but hopefully it'll perform well. For reference, I'm using these in a pair of balmorals boots - they may not fit as well for less formal styles.

Good well built product.May not fit tall boots.
Good product for the price. However, due to the shape of the "hook" on the heal this may not be suitable for boots with a tall shaft as it is difficult to get your hand down into the boot to grasp the hook. They work great on shoes and boots with a shorter shaft like those of the "Justin Roper" design. Otherwise I would give it a 5 star rating.Product is well built.
