Hi, I am not sure about the preamp, I did try with the phantom power that showed up under "frequently bought together" connected to my "acoustic" brand amp, it worked well. so you should be good I guess. The C411/PP needs 'phantom power', so it won't work from a 1/4" socket (unless it provides power, which would be weird!) The alternative C411/L provides a professional three-pin mini XLR connector that fits the body-pack transmitters of all AKG wireless microphone systems.
