How is the way to burn this incense? I need a special pot?

You will need a non-flammable container and a disk of charcoal. Use charcoal that is specific for incense burning. Under no circumstances should you use charcoal that's for grilling outside! The fumes of that are toxic. Light the charcoal brickette and when it's grey, sprinkle a small amount of the copal on the brickette. Don't add too much as you can always add more but you can't take it off. People usually put sand in the bottom of the non-flammable container to help disperse the heat, under the brickette. Can you grind this down into powder? Does it melt or just evaporate when heated?

Because of the intense heat generated by the charcoal tablets, it does both; the aroma starts as soon as the resin pieces or powder comes in contact w/ the heat! Once the powder melts, the tablet oozes w/this unique aroma that lasts for 10-15 minutes or more, depending on the amount used! Enjoy or meditate to this wonderful smell.

Is this from the hymenaea verrucosa tree, or the protium copal tree? the latter is from mexico and the one commonly used as incense.
