Q: Will this work on a Honda grom head?

I would think so. It worked great on my CRF450L, when I installed the new cam and valve springs.

Q: Does this work for a 2001 volkswagen 1.9 tdi cylinder head?

Yes it does. Infact, I used it to redo a vw 1.6 idi head.

Q: Will this work on Harley Evo. engines?

I used it on my Harley Evo and it just barely worked. The largest adapter is too small in diameter to fit securely onto the spring retainer. Evo retainers are 33mm, and this tool is supposed to fit up to 30mm retainers, but I think even the largest adapter would only work on a 28mm retainer. So, even though the tool easily compressed the spring, I was constantly holding the tool to prevent it from slipping sideways off the retainer, and shooting the springs and retainer across my cellar. So it does work, but it's scary to use.
