Q: Will this work for lithium AAA batteries?

Non rechargeable lithium AAA and AA cells have a voltage of about 1.8 V when new as opposed to 1.5 V for an alkaline cell. It should not concern you that the tester will read higher for new lithium cells. The replace voltage indication is based on the minimum voltage requirement of most of the devices the batteries are used in. Therefore, the tester will give a valid indication of when to replace the cells, regardless of the cell chemistry. Lithium cells have a more abrupt voltage drip at end of life, so these testers' indications can be trusted.

Q: will this work for smaller watch batteries like a 394?

Yes. It works for all common button-cell batteries, including 394.

Q: Does it test for internal resistance or just volt output?

Just tests battery output in terms of good, low or replace. Does not test resistance. Simple device that provides basic feedback. Good deal for $4.99!

Q: May i know if this will test for 1.2v aa rechargeable batteries?? i see that its written for 1.5v .

The device is marked for 1.5V for a AA battery. You can safely place a 1.2V AA battery in it; from the display you'll be able to guess how much voltage is still left.
