Q: Is the width truly adjustable to any width i like? i’ve seen set that the top bar = 4 fixed bars & i don’t like that. thanks

Each stand measures approx. 10 ft tall x 10 ft wide but it is adjustable. The Adjustable Height Support Stands are 5 feet smallest to 10 feet longest, and the Adjustable Width Telescopic Cross Bar is 4 feet smallest to 10 feet longest. Hope this helps!

Q: Is it sturdy or bendable? I need to hang a kinda heavy backdrop on it

This pretty sturdy backdrop. I generally use numerous sequin curtains on it. I normally don't fully extend pass 9.5 feet because the horizontal bar will lose a little integrity, but pretty strong overall. If outdoors in windy conditions you will need to tape or bend the 4 prongs to secure the horizontal pole in place. Really do Love my backdrop stand.
