🌠 Capture the cosmos like never before — see what others miss!
The Optolong L-Ultimate 2” Dual Bandpass Filter features a precise 3nm bandwidth that exclusively passes H-alpha (656.3nm) and OIII (500.7nm) emission lines, drastically reducing light pollution from artificial and natural sources. This results in darker sky backgrounds, enhanced nebula contrast, and minimized star halos, making it ideal for astrophotographers seeking superior image clarity in urban or light-polluted environments. Compatible with most DSLR, CMOS, and CCD cameras, it elevates deep-sky imaging to professional levels.

What light pollution?
I upgraded to the ultimate from the extreme filter. Using an esprit 100 with 2600mc. This filter like the extreme is amazing for pulling more details from the light polluted sky's around me. I upgraded because I was getting a few too many star halos with the extreme. With the ultimate this issue has been drastically reduced. It still has random halos, but nothing like before. Expensive but worth the price for what it allows you to see.

Still halos but nebula POPs!
Unfortunately this filter will still produce halos on some stars but not as bad as most others and the contrast helps to produce images nearing monochrome with a good cooled OSC making it absolutely worth it. I own all Optolong Filters and was expecting a harder time with focus on this one with only 3 nm bandpass but had no issues focusing or acquiring targets as anything with Ha or Oiii pops very nicely with a 10 second test shot on 294MC with Redcat51. I do this all manually with a Skyguider Pro and had no issues.
