Hello, can I use this for beetle larva?

I've used it for my fruit beetle larva for ages

I have just mixed this with sand as we would normal soil for my Herman tortoise, it is drying out slightly. Should I just regularly add water?

We use it for a gecko and it’s water sprayed every day. Seems to work Soil will react with external temperature...., so if it’s a hot day it might need a little more spray.

Is it suitable for garden snails?
