Awesome Letter Opener
It's a letter opener that looks like Anduril, the Flame of the West. What more do you need?Don't expect a real sword, dagger, or knife. Purely a letter opener . . . but it is my favorite one, and I buy it as a gift for all my Lord of the Rings friends.

Very well made for $15
Great for the price. Sturdy. It’s a dull blade. Note that the 13.5 inch estimate is with the scabbard on, not just the sword itself. Included some pictures!

Great gift item - but the second one wasn't so nice
I purchased this as a ceremonial gift and it was well received. It's a great letter opener.Edit: I liked it enough to buy another one for myself! I was sad to see that when delivered the point was blunt and I could see the line where the point was not shaped correctly, it was left too long. There was a visible sprue on one edge where the material had been cut from a billet (possibly laser cut?) and the sprue was broken/cut off and left on the edge. Granted, this is a letter opener, not anything one would use for anything else, but come on... at least cut the material correctly! One star off my previous review for these issues. About an hour with sharpening tools corrected the issue and put on an edge that would open a letter without tearing it apart. Still a good gift item, but look it over before you present it!

A bit disapponting, but good value for money.
I was really disappointed with the size of this "short sword". It is VERY sharp, though. I feel that it doesn't even qualify as a dagger as the hilt is much too short, can't be gripped comfortably, and doesn't even cover the span of my hand (and I don't have a large hand). To quote a famous dwarf, "More of a letter opener, really." It appears to be a diminutive replica of Aunduril, the sword made from the shards of Narsil and wielded by Aragorn in "The Lord of the Rings". As such it is an attractive piece, well made of sturdy plastic and steel, and, although I don't feel it has been categorized correctly, is worth the money I paid. If you are into sword replica letter openers, this is a good one.

Almost real!
This costume prop feels almost real. The blade is metal, but the sheath is plastic. Do be careful if you get one. The blade is dull/blunted, but can hurt someone. Definitely not a toy.

Great, especially for the money
Having just returned a plasticky set of Samurai letter openers that broke while assembling, I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this dagger/short sword.I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy and well made it is, especially for the money. It looks quite sturdy although I wouldn't use it to fend off angry racoons. It's surprisingly well made for the money and I would definitely buy it again. I just wish they hadn't stamped China on the blade. That does dampen the effect for me a bit.
