I have given other hair dyes a try & they all have FAILED when compared to Manic Panic. I have used Manic Panic for over 25 years now & REFUSE to use another brand again. It is the ONLY hair dye that “keeps” in my hair over time, doesn’t completely dry it out, smells great, is vegan & not tested on animals. My hair isn’t “porous” so I leave it in overnight with a shower cap & a plastic bag over it with a hair towel. YES this dye bleeds like crazy, but as long as you use gloves to protect your hands, a dye brush for application, apply petroleum jelly around your hairline & ears the dying of your skin is minimal. Because this dye is semi-permanent it washes out with each shampoo. I only co-wash my hair so it lasts much longer for me. I protect my pillows with a towel for the first week or so & usually only rinse it out with cool water to keep the “bleeding” to a minimum. Since I have been dying my type 4 hair Deep Purple Dream for a while now; (the only one that covers my gray evenly) one jar gets the job done for my shoulder-length hair for a root touch up. All in all I recommend Manic Panic as a fabulous alternative to traditional hair dyes!

Love this color and other Manic Panic purple colors. Sometimes I mix their purples in Loreal Feria V38 Power Violet and I'm between colors, I use just manic panic to touch up the color. Be warned, purple hair color does not last as long as other colors and it stains everything. It won't matter what brand of purple you use, even salon purple doesn't last as long as other colors, Which led me to non salon coloring as it's cheaper over time. If you have dark hair yo will want to have highlights added to your hair first. My hair is dark brown and I had highlights added first. My hair is now a dark brown to black color (black from the Loreal color) with purple highlights. It blends in very nice. I have had many compliments on my hair color. Manic Panic is better than Jerone Russel color, more color choices and it seems to last longer.

I've been a Manic Panic Dyehard since the 90s and was even featured on their website back in 2006! My favorite go-tos have always been purples and blues but I hadn't tried this one out yet. I'm SO glad I did! It's my new favorite. It's very dark and, in my naturally black hair (that is of course bleached where I want the color) starts out pretty subtle. But it's gorgeous and has been slowly fading into the most beautiful purple. Normally, when purples fade in my hair, they go brown quickly. But this has stayed purple and, 6 weeks later, is a gorgeous lavender color that not only looks pretty but looks intentional. Love it!

I initially got this because my kids had a glow party at their school so I thought it would be fun to have some color pop and glow at the party. This was advertised as being a color that showed up under black light so I went with it. Unfortunately it did not but I do love the color. My hair is a light brown mixed with silvery gray so it showed up nicely. I colored it about halfway down my hair and then about a week later put more on it to even it out and put it up a little bit higher up on my hair. You can kinda tell by my pictures the darkness and height of the coloring. All in all I love it and hope the color lasts a month or so like it says but we will see. It did seem to lighten quite a bit within the first week. It was easy to use and didn’t stain my skin for more than one day in the spots that I didn’t wash it off quickly. I am not someone who colors my hair so I’m definitely not a pro so I was happy it was easy. Def recommend this just don’t expect this color to glow under black light.

Its great! It washes out easily but I take steps to mitigate that. Right now, its barely faded in over a month!You can:-Add some of the dye to your conditioner so the color gets little boosts when you condition your hair-Make sure you have a color safe shampoo and conditioner! No sulfates, no parabens, formulated for dyed hair- generally avoid Suave, Garnier, Loreal, Aussie, etc. I use Nexxus and it works like a charm.-Rinse in cool to cold water!-Don't wash and condition every day, its bad for your hair anyway and drags the dye out of your hair fasterIf none of that works, try a different brand for sure. Not every brand of hair dye works perfect for every person!

Stains really bad so make sure you wear gloves. But other than that it's the perfect color and applies really nice. When I first saw it I was worried about the size, it looks so small and I was worried I wouldn't have enough. But I ended having plenty extra to dye again (only the bottom half of my hair is dyed). Haven't tested how fast it fades yet, but so far in love
